The difference between heating film and heating cable

Nov 25,2019

Heating cables are made of cable structures, using electricity as energy, and using alloy resistance wires to energize and generate heat to achieve the effect of heating or heat preservation. The main usage is cement underground laying construction. The advantages are low cost, long service life, and can be controlled by time and household. The disadvantage is that you need to pay attention to the service life and failure of the thermostat to avoid cable outlet problems caused by the thermostat.

The electrothermal film is a translucent polyester film that can generate heat after being energized. It is made of conductive special ink and metal current-carrying strips, which are processed and hot-pressed between insulating polyester films. The main usage is cement underground laying construction. The advantages are simple construction, moderate cost, and high efficiency of electric heat conversion. The disadvantage is that because the ink is sandwiched in the middle of the PVC material film, the high temperature generated during heating will easily lead to ink separation and breakdown, the safety is not high, the life is short, and the user experience is poor in terms of service life.

Advantages and disadvantages of heating cable heating system:

Advantage 1, green and environmental protection, no environmental pollution.

The low-temperature radiation electric heating film heating system does not produce smoke and dust, no noise and floating dust caused by indoor air convection, which meets the requirements of urban planning and is suitable for the requirements of green and environmental protection in modern society.

Advantage 2, heating up quickly, without cement backfilling.

The electric heating film floor heating occupies a high floor and the temperature rises quickly. The electric heating film can rise to 45 degrees in three minutes, and the floor will be hot in half an hour (the floor will be hot in two to three hours). The electric heating film floor heating is the only one under the composite wood floor that does not need cement backfill. Floor heating, invisibly, the electric heating film floor heating is the thinnest electric floor heating at present.

Advantage three, convenient and economical, can be billed separately.

The low-temperature radiant electric heating film heating system can be turned on or off at any time according to the needs of users, and can adapt to the needs of various users. It can be metered by household, unit or floor, and users can freely control electricity consumption. Therefore, the operating cost is very economical.

Advantage four, does not occupy indoor space, maintenance-free, maintenance-free.

The low-temperature radiant electric heating film heating system does not occupy indoor space because of the cancellation of radiators and pipelines. And the whole system has a long service life, maintenance-free and repair-free.

Advantage five, low temperature operation, safe and reliable.

When the system is working, the surface of the electrothermal film keeps running at a low temperature, and the maximum temperature does not exceed 60 degrees Celsius. Therefore, there will be no accidents such as burns, explosions and fires. The entire system is connected in parallel, with stable operation and high feasibility.

Advantage six, bathe in the warmth of natural sunlight.

Because the low-temperature radiant electric heating film heating system adopts radiant heating, it will make people feel as warm and comfortable as in the sun. None of the dryness and stuffiness that comes with traditional heating systems.

Disadvantage 1. The strength of the product is inferior to that of the heating cable.

The strength of the electric heating film itself is very poor, and it is much more fragile than the heating cable, which makes it easy to be damaged during construction and use. The cable is made of multi-layer materials from the inside to the outside to ensure that it has a certain tensile and bending strength, and from the size of the cable, the cable is much stronger than the electric heating film.

Disadvantage two, there is electromagnetic radiation.

Magnetism generates electricity, electricity generates magnetism, and the two complement each other. If there is no electromagnetic radiation, no current will flow, and if current passes, electromagnetic radiation must be produced.

Disadvantage 3. The power will decay year by year.

Because the raw material of the electrothermal film is a semiconductor ink, this material is generally used in petroleum and aerospace. For example, the electric heating film is 200 watts, the first year is 200 watts, the second year is 190 watts, and the third year is 180 watts. When the power decays, the temperature in the room will drop.

Disadvantage four, no leakage protection device.

The electric heating film itself has no special leakage protection device, but a layer of insulating polyester film is covered on the heat conduction circuit, and it does not have a shielding wire like a heating cable for grounding. The hardness of the polyester film determines that it is easily scratched by other tools or building materials during construction, so it has the possibility of electric leakage. Because there is no shielding grounding wire, it will not be able to cut off the power supply in time, nor can it prevent the occurrence of electric shock.

Both use electric energy, which is clean and environmentally friendly. Users can choose according to their own needs. When installing, they can be installed by the manufacturer or a professional installation team.
